Hi everyone,
My name is Tasi, and I’ve lived and breathed lacrosse since 1957, when I first picked up a stick as a 7-year-old playing for Malvern Lacrosse Club in Victoria. Over nearly seven decades, I’ve represented my state, coached championship-winning teams, and introduced this incredible sport to underprivileged and Indigenous youth across regional Australia.
Now, I have the chance to help a group of children on the other side of the world — in Uganda.
Recently, I was deeply moved by a video showing Ugandan kids playing lacrosse with barely any equipment, yet overflowing with passion and joy. After connecting with their coach, Oboto Francis, I knew I had to do something.
So, I’ve decided to donate ~$30k of lacrosse gear, including helmets, lacrosse sticks, arm guards, gloves and uniforms to support their growth — but now I need your help to get it there.
We're seeking to raise funds to cover the freight and logistics costs to ship the donated equipment to Kampala, Uganda. Every dollar you contribute brings us closer to sharing the love of lacrosse and providing opportunity, confidence, and connection through sport.
Please support however you can — whether it’s donating or sharing this page — and help us make a meaningful impact in these young players’ lives.
Thank you for your generosity and belief in what sport can do.

Hi! My name is Manon Edwards, and I’ve helped Tasi set up this GoFundMe page in support of a truly wonderful cause.
Tasi coached my son in lacrosse, and from the moment I met him, it was clear how deeply passionate he is about the sport. That passion shone through in his coaching, my son thrived under his guidance and learned so much. Tasi generously gave up his personal time to coach him further, having seen his potential. It’s rare these days to meet someone so genuinely committed to making a difference. What stands out even further, is that Tasi was always reluctant to charge for training fees, his belief is very much that kids should not have to pay to enjoy and prosper in a sport that they love.
Unfortunately, in our town in Victoria, it's been challenging to maintain a consistent lacrosse club. When Tasi told me he wanted to donate all his lacrosse equipment (that he had funded himself and provided to teach kids in local schools), to help enable kids in Uganda to effectively play this sport they love with the proper equipment, I knew it was an incredible idea. He just needed to find a way to get the gear over there, which is going to be quite costly, and that’s where this fundraiser comes in.
I’ve been in contact with Oboto in Uganda, who shared photos and stories of local kids who are passionate about lacrosse but currently play without proper helmets or protective gear. They’re eager to learn and improve, and access to better equipment would mean the world to them.
Any contribution—big or small—towards covering the freight costs to get this equipment to Uganda would be deeply appreciated. Let’s help Tasi’s generosity reach even further and support these kids in growing their love for the sport. Thank you!!
