Help Us Send Two Future Engineers to the Stars
Donation protected
With less than 35 days until launch, we’re pushing hard to get two incredible students the funding they need to attend. These students — Gwen Engstrom and Moises Troya — have poured their hearts, skills, and time into our project, Project DYNAMO, and deserve to see it fly. I’m personally contributing to help them go, but we need your help to get them all the way there.
Expenses at a Glance
We’re raising $4,100 to cover the essential travel costs for two students for 8 days:
✈️ Flights from Seattle to Midland, TX: $600
️ (1) Hotel for (2) people 8 days: $2,500
️ Food for (2) people for (8) days: $1,000
Meet the Students You’ll Be Supporting...
️️⚙️⚙️⚙️ Gwen Engstrom is a transgender student and the Payload Lead for Project DYNAMO. She’s majoring in computer and electrical engineering at Edmonds College. With 5 years of competitive robotics experience through FIRST Robotics Team 2522 “Royal Robotics,” she brings engineering precision and drive to our rocket’s payload system. Gwen joined our team after mentoring a high school team to the World Championship in 2024 — now she's building rockets instead of robots.
⚡️⚡️⚡️
✈️✈️✈️ Moises Troya is from Venezuela and serves as our Design Lead. Majoring in Aerospace Engineering, he’s a certified private pilot with flight experience in a Cessna 152. Moises handles the structural and aesthetic design of our rocket, ensuring it’s not only airworthy, but competition-ready. He sources materials, leads the finishing process, and brings vision and artistry to our engineering.
Why This Matters
This competition isn’t just about rockets — it’s about equity, representation, and opportunity. Gwen and Moises represent the kind of future we want in STEM: one where diverse voices and global talent are celebrated and supported. Let’s show them that their work matters and their dreams are worth funding.
I am the Vice President of Edmonds College Rocketry for two years and have worked hard to make this project a reality. Any excess funds (if any) will go directly back into club operations. Thank you for your support!
