Help Us Send Off Steve Dorsey with Love

Donation protected
My father, Steve Dorsey, passed away suddenly in the morning of June 14th. He had no life insurance and no savings. We don't have enough money to give him a proper send-off. We are hoping that we can raise the money to pay for his funeral & memorial expenses.

My dad was friends with just about everybody. He was fun, wild, & silly, but he also had a big heart & loved his family & friends like no other. He'd always tell us kids, "You have to be a friend to have a friend," & "You can never have too many friends." He lived up to those words. He made friends everywhere he went. He would always stick up for anyone he thought was being bullied.

He loved live music & before he got sick, he never missed a chance to see every live band that he could. If you were a musician that he knew, chances are very high that he was your biggest fan. I know he was mine when I performed.

If you were a kid around him, you probably thought he was the sweetest, funnest, & funniest adult you knew. He loved his kids & grandkids with his whole heart & soul even when he wasn't equipped to show it.

He fought & beat cancer. We thought he was getting better. We thought we'd have more time with him, but we are grateful for the time we did have.

He definitely lived up to his other most common saying, which was: "Life is too short to be unhappy." Even at some of his worst moments, he'd often try to make a joke or do something silly to make those around him laugh.

He had his faults, but he was ours. We loved him with our whole hearts, & we were not prepared, nor were we ready to let him go.

If you could donate anything at all, we would be ever so much obliged. If you can't afford to donate, he wouldn't want you to feel guilty or bad about that at all, but you could share the fundraiser so that we can give him a proper send-off & the ability for everyone who wants to say one last goodbye to him, or as my dad's brother would say, "To the wind, my friend... Until we meet again..."

To know him was often to love him & if he knew you, the chances are pretty dang high that he loved you too.

Thank you so much for your time, donations, & shares. We are ever so much obliged.

Sincerely,
Sage Dorsey & the rest of Steve Dorsey's family
