My name is Heather O’Dwyer myself along with some closest friends and family want to share a friend’s story in hopes to gain as much support and attention to a very heartbreaking situation.
At this time, we need all the love, financial help and sharing of this story to help a friend get the much-needed hope and treatment.
My heart is broken over this last year watching her go through the ups and downs that she has been going through. My dear friend Farrah is who we are speaking about. Farrah and I have been friends for 25 years. Through the last 25 years Farrah has always shown up for me in just one phone call, and I know its not just me its everyone she meets.
Farrah has been married to the love of her life Chris since Oct 10 2010 and has a stepdaughter who she adores and has helped raise since she was 5. Farrah is an extreme animal lover and a hard worker.
Sadly, Farrah has had to take a break from her work while focusing on her medical journey but hopes to be able to heal and return back to life and all it entails.
FARRAH'S STORY:
If you know Farrah, you will know that she has donated her time and money to helping many others including several years of volunteering with relay for life for cancer research and through children’s aid society as a big sister.
Now is the time that she needs help now from all who can.
This all began in spring of 2025 when one of the scariest things a person can come across happened. Farrah found a lump in her breast. The roller coaster began there
June 24, 2025, surprisingly not breast cancer but Farrah was diagnosed with an extremely rare and fast spreading cancer called Angiosarcoma. Fortunately, the team of doctors moved quickly on July 9, 2025, Farrah went into surgery for a mastectomy on her left breast.
The surgery was successful however being this type of rare cancer doctors from princess Margaret and Juravinski cancer hospital have decided the best course of action to be to try radiation on the breast in hopes it will not grow back.
The 6-week fight began 5 days a week Farrah underwent daily trips over 80kms to Juravinski hospital for treatment.
On November 11, 2025, Farrah got the proud moment of ringing the bell to signify the close of this chapter surrounded some of us closest friends, family and of course loving husband Chris.
Following this sadly after her next CT scan in December Farrah was informed that the worse case had happened, and the cancer had spread and told it was stage 4 and incurable the only treatment here in Canada would be chemotherapy on a weekly basis. Farrah like the champ that she is went into this with the most positive attitude I think I have ever experienced. She is doing well with the chemotherapy but being told by the doctors that it will just continue until she can no longer tolerate the treatments.
Farrah is 49!! Let that sink in, just 49 years old and has lived a very healthy lifestyle doing all the “right” things. I know myself and others refuse to allow this to be it, to be the only solution.
However, there is hope Farrah has been in contact with a clinic called the Sanoviv Medical Institute, a world renowned and first of its kind medical facility offering medical approaches not currently available within the Canadian healthcare system. Sanoviv's physicians specialize in tailoring treatment plans for complex cases like angiosarcoma, and use advanced integrative therapy, metabolic medicine and comprehensive whole-body protocols designed to optimize healing long term.
WHY SANOVIV FARRAH’S LAST OPTION:
After extensive research and a medical consultation, Farrah has been invited into a three-week integrative cancer treatment program at Sanoviv Medical Institute,
Sanoviv has a spot for Farrah for mid May 2026. The plan to move on this right away is largely attributed to the fact that this type of cancer spreads very quickly so this hope would be that the Sanoviv can stop the growth in its tracks, because it’s a whole body treatment to support long term healing as opposed to chemotherapy that she will not be able to tolerate forever.
The fundraising financial goal of this campaign is specifically to cover the cost of this program.
WHY ARE WE COMMITTED TO RAISING FUNDS FOR FARRAH?
The cost of this program is $51,000 USD (not including travel or companion care while she is there). These funds will go a long way to help Farrah focus entirely on her healing without the added stress and financial burden.
Farrah will also need extensive integrative treatment, therapies, supplements, and follow-up care when she returns home from Sanoviv. These costs are not covered by insurance and can be substantial.
NOTE FROM FARRAH:
Any help whether that be financial contributions or even sharing my story would mean the world to be. I am holding on hope that I can heal from this tragedy and continue to have a happy healthy life for many years to come
Your support, kindness and encouragement truly mean more to me than I could every express.
Thank you for taking the time to read and being part of my journey.
With love and gratitude
Farrah, family & friends
