Hi my name is Lani and I am doing this fundraiser for the family of my best friend Juan Carlos Parks. Carlos passed unexpectedly in the hospital after a few weeks stay. He leaves behind his elderly mother, sister, nieces and numerous of other family and friends. I met Carlos on our deployment to Afghanistan in 2011. Carlos served in the Navy for 14 years. He came back to his home town to help his aging parents. Carlos loved his country and his friends and most of all his family. He had a heart of gold and would always try to help and make people laugh. He was a big Jokster. He would always do something ridiculous just to make people laugh or at least roll their eyes. He loooved Tennessee Football. He loved car racing and car shows. First time I learned what a Redneck Rumble was all I could do is roll my eyes but now I feel like I probably have to go to at least one. Come to think of it i think he was in love with Kevin Harvick and you can tell it because of all his stuff in the house. He loved all of Juan jokes because his name was Juan. He loved to cook and would take numerous of pictures and post them on Facebook as if it truly was a miracle and he had to convince people of it. Oh yeah, he also tried to convince me that he was taller than me but he was still shorter even when he wore his crocs. However he would never admit it. He also loved mowing his lawn and taking his mom to church on Sundays. He was a mommas boy for sure. Carlos was a very generous man and would always buy gifts for his friends and family. We are all heartbroken over Carlos especially his mom and sister who are also dealing with their own health issues. Unfortunately his mom is 83 years old and on social security and unable to pay for the funeral. I am asking you please if you can donate to his funeral because his mother is unable to pay for his funeral services and unable to make that amount of money. So please anything would help. I have a permission from his mom and sister to start this gofundme. Thank you all for your generosity.
