Hi all. I'm helping to raise funds for my daughter-in-law, Candie Black, to go to Utah and take care of her mom, Karen Black, at home after her surgery. Karen had two abdominal surgeries within two days and was sent home to recover, but she doesn't have anyone there to feed her, keep track of pain med timing, help her recover, or get to her follow-up appointments. Karen is 74 years young and living by herself. We feel so helpless up here in Spokane, Washington when Karen needs 24/7 care in Utah.

I know that we are all having multiple catastrophes recently, but I know that we've got to try to find ways to take care of those who are still able to keep their physical bodies alive too. I can't even keep track of the number of personal tragedies that we've had in the last 3 months, and I know that the rest of you are dealing with the same types of things, but please consider helping out. When we get the funds raised, Candie will take a bus down to Utah so that she can help her with her postoperative drain, meals, self-care, and medications for a few weeks. So many people don't recover well without proper care. These were emergency surgeries, so we didn’t have time to plan for it, and the costs for her co-pays and the deductibles are mounting. Please help us as we help Karen! Her husband died last year, so she hasn't had to go through anything like this alone. No one should.
