That’s why Canadian Neighborhood Heroes (CNH) is launching The 7th Annual Fundraiser: #ProjectBackpack2025—to provide 500 backpacks filled with essential school supplies to children in underserved communities across the GTA and Durham Region.

With your help, we can ensure that 500 students start the school year with dignity, confidence, and everything they need to thrive.

Why This Matters

Too many children in our local neighborhoods return to school without basic supplies—because their families simply can’t afford them. Inflation, housing instability, and the lingering effects of the pandemic have made back-to-school season a financial burden for many.

But together, we can change that.

Each backpack will contain:

Notebooks, pencils, pens, erasers, rulers

️ Art and craft supplies

Travel-sized hygiene products

A hand-written note of encouragement

Our Goal

We aim to raise $12,500 to fund:

500 fully stocked backpacks ($25 each)

Bulk school supply purchases

Volunteer coordination and packing supplies

Distribution costs across multiple communities
