Hi everybody,

If you don’t know me, my name is Ashton, I’m Hilton Galloways granddaughter.

During the last week of September 2025 we got the news that grandpa had a glioblastoma which is a very aggressive, life altering brain tumor and on the 28th of September he had brain surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible. Although doctors got some of it out, this cancer is like a sponge and will expand and quickly take the space of the area that was removed.

As if this diagnosis is not heartbreaking and stressful enough, my family has to worry about finances: flights for four of us to get back to South Africa, nurses/in home help for grandpa, funeral, etc.

With this diagnosis of brain cancer his time is very very limited—he is very quickly declining in his quality of life. This news has been incredibly hard for our family, and we are doing everything we can to be there for him in his final days. We urgently need to fly home to South Africa from America to see him, support him, and help with any needs he may have during this difficult time.

The funds raised will go directly towards travel expenses for our family, as well as any medical needs and afterlife logistics such as the funeral. Being able to say goodbye and support my grandpa means the world to us, but the financial burden of international travel and unexpected costs is overwhelming, especially during the holiday season.

During this time, we are asking for our community’s help to ease this burden. Any donation, no matter the size, will make a difference and help us be there for our grandpa. We are deeply grateful for your support, kindness, and prayers as we navigate this challenging journey.
