Sky (also known as Birdie) has been a cherished part of our family for over 13 years. We first met him when he was just a tiny pup, rescued from a breeder who had dropped him off because he was a mutt. The grass was taller than he was, but his spirit was already so big. Sky came into my life when I met my husband, and since then, it’s always been the three of us. He’s been loyal, caring, and always there when we needed him—whether we realized it or not. Sky has seen other animals come and go, but he never judged; he got along with every human and every pet he met. He’s always had a special way of making us smile, especially when he’d try to get his own food and still want ours, or when he’d tap the treat container, dig at us, or sit up on his hind legs to ask for a treat.
This is an incredibly hard decision for us, but we know it’s time. Even his best friend Frankie has noticed something is wrong and has stopped sleeping near him. We want to do what’s right for Sky and not let him suffer any longer. Unfortunately, we don’t have the money to cover the costs, and waiting until spring would be cruel. The funds raised will go toward putting Sky to rest, his cremation, and a final paw print to remember him by.
Please help us give Sky the peaceful goodbye he deserves. Any support you can offer means the world to us during this heartbreaking time. Thank you for helping us honor his memory and for being there when we need it most.
