My dad, Delfín Tirado, passed away today, October 2nd, after years of battling cancer. Even though we knew this day was coming, it still hits harder than we ever imagined.

I really thought Medicaid would help cover the cremation — my dumbass didn’t realize there are a bunch of hidden costs that come with death that no one really talks about. We were doing our best to prepare, but some things just caught us off guard.

If you’re able to help at all, anything would go directly to covering his funeral and cremation costs. My dad leaves behind not just me, his daughter Antolína, but also his granddaughter Lilah and my husband Jared lm we’re all trying to hold each other up right now.
