Yesterday, on November 20, 2025, my mother, Cheryl Lynn Lyons, passed away unexpectedly following a sudden cardiac event. The shock of this loss is indescribable. Cheryl was a loving mother, a cherished friend, and someone who always put others before herself. Her kindness and warmth touched so many lives, and we are heartbroken to have to say goodbye so soon.

Cheryl is survived by me, her only son Malcolm, as well as her brothers Phillip Lyons and Shawn Lyons, her four grandchildren, and her daughter-in-law Akilah Lyons-Moore. As Cheryl’s only son, I am now facing not only the emotional pain of losing my mother, but also the full weight of the financial responsibilities that come with her passing. The burden of arranging her cremation and memorial services at Ruckers mortuary in Pacoima, CA, donation may be made directly to Ruckers mortuary in her name. While I want nothing more than to honor her memory with a service that reflects the love and care she gave to everyone around her, the costs are overwhelming during this time of grief.
