The weight of loss is an unyielding force. When my father passed unexpectedly, the world as I knew it cracked open, revealing not just the depth of our grief. In life, my father was the cornerstone of our family—a man who carried burdens so we didn’t have to. Now, in his absence, I found myself grappling with the one burden he could not shield us from: the cost of saying goodbye.

But then I thought of him. My father had spent his life giving to others. If he had taught me anything, it was that people are often willing to help if you let them.

I have started a fundraiser, writing from the heart about the man my father was, the lessons he left behind, and the support we now needed to honor him in the way he deserved. Family, friends, neighbors, and strangers have all provided support. Each donation, no matter the amount, will go towards supporting our family.
