This is baby Zuko. Many of you have already shown incredible kindness by helping us give him a fighting chance when he first came into our lives. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to cover his initial veterinary bills and keep him safe. Unfortunately, Zuko’s battle for health is far from over.
Zuko is a young Persian cat who was found starving, with acid burns up to his neck, and one eye in critical condition. He had suffered unimaginable cruelty, but despite it all, he remained gentle and trusting. With your support, he was able to begin treatment and start the healing process.
But Zuko’s recovery has been more complicated than anyone expected. He has now been in veterinary care for over 110 days, and along the way we learned he is FIV and FIP positive. These conditions have caused constant scratching, which has delayed his healing. On top of this, Zuko has been allergic to many of the medications we’ve tried, meaning it has taken time to find treatments that won’t harm him. Because of these setbacks, his bills have already reached another £2,000, and will continue to rise in the coming weeks.
Despite everything, Zuko is showing progress: his fur is starting to grow back, and his wound is finally healing. The next stage of his treatment will involve either laser therapy or fish-skin grafts, which are expected to take around another 30 days to complete.
Zuko truly deserves a chance at life and a loving home after all he has endured. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward his ongoing veterinary care so that he can continue on this long road to recovery.
❤️ Thank you for standing by Zuko, helping him fight, and giving him hope for a brighter future.
