Help Us Save Yuki – Our Sweet Girl Needs Lifesaving Surgery

At the end of March, we noticed something was wrong with our beloved cat, Yuki — her abdomen was suddenly enlarged and she was showing a lot of discomfort. We rushed her to an emergency vet, desperate for answers, but left with more questions and growing concern. After visiting another vet who wasn't equipped to help, we were finally referred to an Internal Medicine specialist.

On April 1st, after extensive testing and scans, we received devastating news: Yuki has Mast Cell Tumor Cancer. The cancer is causing fluid build up in her abdomen causing swelling and a severely enlarged spleen that’s now pressing her intestines and organs against her spine. On April 9th, we met with an oncologist who told us Yuki needs emergency surgery to remove her spleen and depending on the bone marrow findings during her surgery she may have to undergo chemo.

We filed a claim with her pet insurance, which had promised to reimburse 70% of her care. Unfortunately, they are only covering $1,000 out of the estimated $10,000 cost.

This has been a heartbreaking and overwhelming journey, and while Marc and I are not the type to ask for help easily — this is different. This is for Yuki. She’s more than a pet — she’s our baby, our family, our world.

Many friends and family have encouraged us to open this GoFundMe, and so here we are, humbly asking for help. Every donation, share, or kind word means more to us than we can express. We know times are tough for many — as a small business owner myself, I’ve felt the uncertainty deeply these past few months.
