Help Us Save Winnie – Emergency Vet Bills for Our Sweet Family Dog
We’ve had our sweet girl Winnie since she was just 6 weeks old—she’s been part of our family since 2021. She’s more than just a dog—she’s our gentle, loving companion, and our toddler’s best friend. The bond they share is something truly special, and Winnie has always been so patient, playful, and kind. She’s the heart of our home.
On June 16, 2025, our back gate was accidentally left open, and both of our dogs got out. We didn’t realize at first that Winnie had slipped out too—by the time we noticed, she was back in the yard, quietly laying down as if everything was fine. But we could tell something was wrong—she was limping and panting heavily.
We rushed her to the emergency vet, thinking it might be a stomach issue. What we learned was heartbreaking: Winnie had pneumothorax, a serious condition caused by trauma, likely from being hit by a car. After checking our security cameras, we saw that Winnie had, in fact, gotten out—but had returned home to where she felt safest.
Since then, she’s undergone several procedures, including 4–5 chest taps and the placement of two chest tubes—one on each side. She’s currently recovering, but her journey is far from over.
Between the emergency visit, overnight stay, and continuing care, we’re facing up to $7,000 in vet bills. It’s more than we can manage alone, but we’re doing everything we can to keep our girl safe and comfortable.
If you’re able to help in any way—even with just a dollar—we would be incredibly grateful. Your support means everything to us, and to our little one who just wants our sweet baby girl back home and healthy.
With love and thanks,
The Williams’ Family
