Help Us Save Trey Lambert

Trey Lambert is our beloved 7-year-old whippet — the calmest, gentlest, most well-mannered boy you could ever meet. He loves smiling at the camera, playing in the backyard, and going on daily walks with his mom. Trey has brought us nothing but love, joy, and companionship since the day he came into our lives.

In early March 2025, we found a lump on his neck. We immediately took him to the vet, and unfortunately, we received devastating news — our sweet boy has thyroid cancer.

We were referred to BluePearl Specialty and Emergency Pet Hospital in Grand Rapids, where an oncologist confirmed the diagnosis on March 27th. The word “cancer” is something no pet parent ever wants to hear, but we are staying strong for Trey. Thankfully, tests show that the cancer has not metastasized to his lungs or stomach — a glimmer of hope in a difficult time.

Trey is scheduled for surgery to remove the 3cm tumor on Monday, April 14, 2025. The goal is to remove it fully and give him the best chance at a few more happy, healthy years with us. The surgery is expensive at just over $7,000, but we are determined to do everything we can for him.
