Help us save these Samoyeds.

In late 2023, while the person we knew to run Beltamo Kennels, Patricia Shirlene Dianna Hughes, (aka Billy Valentine, aka Angel Billy Valentine-Fox, aka Valentine Fox) was serving time in Prison after pleading guilty to obtaining a financial advantage by deception, as a result of claiming Centrelink payments over approximately 12 years amounting to approximately $200,000.00 under the alias Valentine Fox. We were contacted by a 15 year old child who was living with the person who we believed at the time was left to care for the dogs. We have since come to find she is the other half of Beltamo Kennels, Jennifer Prigg (aka Jennifer Valentine, aka Estelle Callera), who lives at their property in Myponga. The junior stated that the RSPCA was coming to their house to seize the dogs and asked if we could help them.

We, of course, offered to take the 3 Samoyeds ( Beltamo Callico Jack ( Captain), Beltamo Miss Can’t Be Wrong ( Shilah) and Classicana Moonlit Rhapsody (Oberon) ) into care to rehome them, stopping the RSPCA from taking the dogs and having this child stuck in the middle of what would no doubt be a traumatic situation. It was only days later that we discovered that the dogs were not to be removed from the property and that the reason for the RSPCA’s return to the property was to check that their orders that all dogs have access to clean drinking water and adequate shelter at all times had been met. The dogs were picked up in an abysmal condition from a person we knew as Billy’s mother in Tonsley. Their coats were impacted and heavily infested with fleas, with the then 10 month old Oberon underweight and in a less than desirable condition.

The next morning we started attempting to contact the only owner we have known for the dogs, Billy Valentine, at the Adelaide Women’s Prison to start the transfer process as at this time we did not know any other owner existed. Our attempts to contact her were repeatedly turned down and our only point of contact was a 15 year old minor who is in no way capable of making decisions on these matters. Eventually someone called Stelle Ankara attempted to message us via Facebook, but not knowing who this person was, we refused to engage with them.

Fast forward 7 months and we are now being sued for not returning the dogs to these people who refuse to take responsibility for or see any issue in the condition the dogs were in when they were given to us.

We are asking for your assistance to cover the legal costs needed to keep these beautiful dogs safe and have them not end up back in the condition they were in 7 months ago. All we want is for them to find loving, safe and caring homes. They do not deserve the life we believe they will end up with if they go back
