Teddy turned 5 years old on 7th May. Instead of celebrating, our beautiful boy has been fighting for his life in a specialist veterinary hospital after ingesting something toxic.

His stomach lining was severely inflamed and ulcerated — he’s been on IV fluids, opioids, anti-nausea injections and round-the-clock care.

The wonderful news is his latest scans show the ulcers are healing. He’s eating again and on his last visit he was alert, walking and sniffing — just our Teddy again. But recovery is slow and he needs at least another week in hospital.

Sadly the bills are now expected to be significantly higher than first anticipated — between £13,000 and £20,000. Our insurance covers £7,000, leaving us facing a shortfall of potentially £13,000.

Teddy isn’t just our dog. After years of heartache trying to build our family, he became our baby. Every single bit of love we have is in him.

He’s also a registered therapy dog — when he’s better, he has poorly people to visit and comfort. We are overwhelmed and humbled by every single donation and share so far. You have shown us the most extraordinary kindness.
