8 days ago Tali, our 6yr beagle, was diagnosed with IMHA (an autoimmune disease in which the body attacks its own red blood cells) It came out of nowhere, and suddenly overnight she can't walk, or eat and is losing blood rapidly.
She was hospitalized on Thursday night (5/4) at a pet hospital in Paramus, NJ in a clinical state and since then she's been getting endless blood transfusions, antibiotics, steroids, and additional meds.
Ideally, the medications start kicking in within 2 days, but in Tali's case it takes longer and the only thing keeping her alive now is the blood transfusions.
According to the doctors, most dogs don't survive this disease due to financial reasons since blood transfusions and hospitalization for a week or two becomes impossible (thousands of $ each day). It won't be the case for Tali! We won't give up on her.
We are reaching out to our friends and all the dog lovers out there with an ask to help us save her!
All she need is TIME, and THERE IS HOPE.
Anything could help at this point, even $1, since her medical bill is already at >$25K and we don't know how much longer it will take to stabilize her.
After checking with our Nationwide Pet insurance, we discovered they cap their help to $1,300 only which means we're alone in this.
Any $ that won't be needed by the time she recovers will be returned to all the caring friends who helped.
THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS!
A small reminder of our Tali on a good day and hopefully all the upcoming days in the near future:
