While on holiday at the Samira Resort Hotel, i witnessed something heartbreaking. The hotel had called the local dog pound to remove two stray dogs who had been visiting the grounds.

When the pound arrived, both dogs panicked. In that moment of fear, one terrified little dog ran to me and clung on for dear life. I couldn’t let her go. We have since named her Sami.

Tragically, the other dog wasn’t as lucky and was taken away. Knowing Sami’s life was in danger, I got her away from the hotel and to a place of safety. The following day, I checked out of the hotel and continued my holiday elsewhere — because I couldn’t stay at a hotel that treats animals in such a way.

The truth is, local pounds are not nice places. Many dogs never make it out once they are taken there. Sami would have faced a terrifying, uncertain future if I hadn’t intervened.

That moment changed everything for us. We never set out to bring another dog into our lives, but Sami chose us, and we are determined to save her life.

Right now, Sami needs boarding costs, vaccinations, and travel arrangements to bring her to a safe, loving home. Every donation, big or small, will go directly toward:
