Help Us Save Sajith

Sajith Balasubramaniam, founding member of Pothuvudamai Iyakkam (Socialist Movement), is fighting for his life in the Apollo Hospital, Chennai. He has been unconscious in intensive care since being admitted after collapsing on Thursday, 4 June. He is on a ventilator. It’s not clear what has struck him down. Doctors say his organs have failed and he is in a perilous situation. But they remain hopeful because his health hasn’t deteriorated since admission. 

Sajith has led a number of campaigns in support of workers and other oppressed people in India, the United Kingdom and around the world. He has worked relentlessly against the capitalist system and is an inspiration to all of us. He is a true fighter and we hope he will get through this.

We ask fellow comrades to send good wishes and to support Sajith’s family with medical expenses. He is currently getting the best treatment possible in India. A little contribution from each of us will go a long way to help Sajith’s family get through this.

Sajith has devoted his life to fighting for all of us. Now, he and his family need our support. Please contribute generously and keep your hopes high for comrade Sajith.

பொதுவுடைமை இயக்கத்தின் முதன்மை ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளர் சஜித் கடந்த வியாழன் ( ஜூன் 4) அன்று திடீர் மயக்கமுற்ற நிலையில் சென்னையில் உள்ள அப்பலோ மருத்துவமனையில் அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டார். அவசர சிகிச்சைப் பிரிவில் உடனடியாக அனுமதிக்கப்பட்டு மிகவும் கவலைக்கிடமான நிலையில் இருப்பதாகவும் அவரது உறுப்புகள் பல செயலிழந்த நிலையில் இருப்பதாகவும் மருத்துவர்கள் கூறி உள்ளனர். செயற்கை சுவாசக் கருவி பொருத்திய நிலையில் கடந்த நான்கு நாட்களாக பெறும் போராட்டத்தை எதிர்கொண்டு வருகிறார்.

பல் மருத்துவராக இருந்தும் செழிப்பாய் சுதந்திரமாய் வாழும் அத்தனை நிலைகள் இருந்தும் கடந்த பல ஆண்டுகளாக ஒடுக்கப்படும் உழைக்கும் மக்களுக்காக, முதலாளித்துவ சுரண்டலுக்கு எதிராக தன் வாழ்வின் அத்தனை நாட்களையும் அர்ப்பணித்தவர். முதலாளித்துவ அமைப்பு முறைக்கு எதிரான சமரசமற்ற போராளியான சஜித் அவரோடு பயணிக்கும் அத்தனை தோழர்களுக்கும் ஆசானாகவும் முன்மாதிரியாகவும் இருந்த ஒப்பற்ற தோழன். அப்படிப்பட்ட தோழன் இன்று தனக்காகப் போராடிக்கொண்டு இருக்கிறான்.

அவரின் போர்க்குணம் இவ்விக்கட்டான சூழ்நிலையையும் கடக்க வைக்கும் என்று பூரணமாக நம்புகிறோம். இந்தச் சூழலில் சமூகத்திடமும் சக தோழமைகளிடமும் அவர் மீண்டு வருவதற்கான சகல ஆதரவுகளையும் வேண்டி நிற்கின்றோம்.

அவரின் உடல்நிலை அறிந்து அவரது குடும்பமும் அவரோடு பயணிக்கும் தோழமைகளும் சக்திக்கு மேற்பட்ட சிறந்த மருத்துவ சேவையை அவருக்கு அளித்துவிட வேண்டும் என்ற அத்தனை முயற்சிகளையும் மேற்கொண்டுள்ளோம். எம் முயற்சிகளுக்கு உங்கள் அனைவரின் பேராதரவு வேண்டும். உங்கள் சிறு பொருளாதார உதவியும் எங்கள் தோழனை மீட்க உதவும்.

இந்த சமூகத்திற்காகவே மட்டும் நின்ற ஒரு தோழன். இன்று அவரது குடும்பமும் அவரும் முதல் முறையாக தங்களுக்காக இச்சமூகத்தின் உதவியை நாடி நிற்கின்றனர். உதவிடுங்கள் தோழர்களே.
