Help Us Give Papaya the Loving Home She Deserves

Hi, I’m Kirk—cat dad to our beloved Kiwi—and my partner Hannah and I are both lifelong cat lovers. We’re currently on holiday in Gran Canaria, and it seems the universe (or the mysterious “Cat Distribution System”) has brought a special soul into our lives.

A beautiful tortoiseshell stray with a dislocated hip found her way to us just two days ago—and in that short time, she’s completely stolen our hearts. We’ve named her Papaya, keeping the fruit theme going with our current fur baby, Kiwi.

Despite what she’s clearly endured, Papaya is one of the most loving, gentle, and trusting cats we’ve ever met. Her meow is soft but full of longing—like she’s been waiting for someone to see her, love her, and finally bring her home. In just 48 hours, we’ve seen her blossom with even the smallest amount of care, and we’re determined not to leave her behind.

We’ve connected with a local Canarian animal charity who are helping us with her vaccinations and getting her a European pet passport. However, they’re unable to cover the full cost of what she truly needs—urgent medical care for her dislocated hip and the expenses involved in relocating her to the UK.

We want to give Papaya a forever home in Edinburgh, where she can recover in comfort, bask in love, and maybe even try out a little tartan. With your help, we can give her the life she’s always deserved—warm laps, sunny windowsills, vet care, and all the cuddles in the world.
