Help Us Save Our Sweet Genie-Beanie

Hi, we’re Amanda and Anthony, and we are trying to help our beloved cat Gene get the medical care he needs and pull through a really scary time.

Gene is only 5 years old. He’s the sweetest, most loving boy. And he suddenly became very sick. He was admitted to the hospital yesterday with what seemed to be a severe case of pneumonia. He’s been on oxygen since then, fighting to breathe, and the doctors now believe it’s most likely cancer.

They’re doing everything they can to find out exactly what’s wrong and give him the best chance at recovery. But the bills are already over $6,000 after just one night in the hospital, and the tests and treatments ahead will cost much more. At this point we are looking at least $10,000.

Unfortunately our family has had an unusually large amount of medical bills this year that have depleted our savings and emergency funds, so we are asking our friends and family for help. Anthony has had surgeries on both of his ears to try and help relieve the vertigo issues that he has been dealing with for several years, and Amanda just had a full knee replacement surgery two weeks ago.

Gene has brought so much love, comfort, and joy into our lives. His presence has opened our hearts in amazing ways. He has been the best big brother to our newest little cat, Milo (who misses him so much). It’s indescribable what he means to us and we can’t imagine our home without him. We want to give him every possible chance to heal, but we could really use some help to make that happen. Our family is just going through a really hard time right now, and having our precious Gene struggling for his life is too much to bear.
