URGENT: Please help save Shimmer of Hope — we are about to lose everything.

Right now, over 100 birds depend on us every single day for food, safety, and care. This sanctuary is their only chance at life, but we are now at serious risk of losing it.

Our planning has been refused again, and without urgent action, we could lose the safe haven these birds now depend on for their survival.

We have now been given an enforcement notice to vacate the land within 3 months.

And when that time runs out… what happens to the birds?

Some of these are birds that cannot survive in the wild.

Some have permanent injuries.

Some were victims of cruelty.

Some arrived so weak and vulnerable they would not have made it another day.

Every single one has a story.

We’ve had tiny baby birds trapped inside a fireplace — sealed in, crying for help — that volunteers had to carefully cut out to rescue. They were brought in fragile and terrified… and with time, care, and patience, they were successfully released back into the wild.

Others aren’t so lucky.

Due to injury or disability some of the birds here will never be able to fly free again and this sanctuary is their forever home. Without it… there is nowhere for them to go.

What we urgently need

We now have to find a new sanctuary location immediately.

This means securing land, moving over 100 birds safely, and rebuilding everything from scratch — all under extreme time pressure.

Ideally, we need land with somewhere to live on-site, so these birds can continue receiving the constant care they rely on.
