My wife Amanda and I have called our house home since October 2015. It’s not much, but it’s our safe place—especially since we’ve lost our parents and don’t have close relatives nearby. We rely on each other, and our home is the one place where we feel secure and supported.

This summer, Amanda developed sepsis and had to be hospitalized. We were already struggling to keep up with bills on a single income, and now we’re facing new medical expenses and the cost of her medications. Without insurance, and after being denied Medicaid (which we’re appealing), we’ve tried everything we can—refinancing, seeking assistance, and working with our lender. Despite our efforts, we recently received a foreclosure letter. The timeline is uncertain, but we know we have very little time to resolve this before we lose our home.

If we’re able to stop the foreclosure, every donation will help us catch up on bills and focus on Amanda’s recovery. She’s a diabetic with an enlarged heart and may have a recurring brain tumor. Her health is fragile, and the stress of losing our home is making things even harder. I work as a caregiver at a senior living facility, and I have a servant’s heart. I want to pay it forward and help others when I’m able. Right now, we need help to get through this rough spot so we can keep our home and support each other through Amanda’s recovery.
