Hi, my name is Cindy, and I’m fundraising on behalf of my family to help us protect a small but precious piece of land behind our home in our quiet village.
We live in a Grade II listed home, and just beyond our garden lies a beautiful green space—filled with trees, wildflowers, and protected wildlife, including the protected crested newts. This land has always been a peaceful sanctuary, not just for our family, but for the many animals and birds that live there too.
Unfortunately, the land is now up for sale, and developers are planning to build houses on it. To make way for the access road, they would have to demolish part of our historic Grade II listed wall, which would forever change the character of our home and the village. The road would run directly next to our house, destroying the privacy and peace we’ve always had.
Our community is small and close-knit—many villagers have opposed the development due to the wildlife impact and environmental loss. But despite our best efforts, money talks, and we simply can’t afford the asking price of £200,000 to buy the land ourselves.
I work as a teaching assistant for special needs children, a job I love deeply, but it doesn’t come with a high wage. That’s why we’re reaching out for help.
Our dream is not to build on the land—but to protect it. If we are able to purchase the land, we will:
Create a vegetable and herb garden to help our family become more self-sufficient
Build a natural pond for the crested newts and other wildlife
Preserve the mature trees and green space
Protect our historic wall from demolition
Keep the land as a peaceful, undeveloped haven for nature and our children
This land is a part of our home and heritage. If it’s sold to developers, we lose far more than just a view—we lose privacy, history, wildlife, and the soul of a special place.
We want to raise the money before the land is purchased by developers, and time is running out. Every single donation brings us closer to preserving this green space forever.
Please consider donating or sharing our story. Every penny truly helps.
Thank you for supporting us on this journey.
With love and gratitude,
Cindy & Family xxx
We will upload images of our progress once we get the land xxx
