After our parents passed away, my brother Daniel and I took over their house. We want to honor their memory by keeping the home safe and livable, but it’s been a constant struggle. I was laid off in March 2026 and haven’t been able to find work, and Daniel’s income isn’t enough to cover the mortgage, bills, and the many repairs the house needs. Together, we’re doing everything we can, but we simply don’t make enough to keep up.

The house needs urgent repairs: new siding and painting, plumbing work throughout, all three bathrooms need attention, the kitchen sink is in disrepair, and the landscaping in both the front and back yards is overdue. Our backyard fence is falling down, which is a worry with our two large dogs, and the crawl space needs a total clean-out, requiring roll-away dumpsters for all the trash. These are just the most pressing issues, and it’s been overwhelming to manage them all.

This fundraiser is truly a last resort. I’ve been applying for jobs constantly, but haven’t had any luck. Some repairs are more urgent than others, but all are important to keeping the house safe and comfortable. Our mom wanted Daniel to be set with the house, but I don’t think even she knew how many issues there were. The stress is constant, but any help would mean the world to us.
