My name is Patricia, and for the past 10 years, my family and I have called our house home. I live here with my husband, who is a veteran, my daughter, and her four wonderful children—an 8-year-old, a 10-year-old, and twin girls who are 14. Our home is also filled with the love of our animals: dogs, cats, chickens, a turkey, and guinea ducks. Recently, we lost my brother to a heart attack, which has made this year even more difficult for us all.
We are now facing the heartbreaking possibility of losing our home by January 1st. I have been unable to work for the last 30 days due to a leg injury, which means my paychecks have stopped coming in. This has put us behind on our mortgage, and despite trying everything—applying for loans, seeking equity loans, and reaching out to government assistance programs—we haven’t been able to find a solution. We are out of options, and the thought of having nowhere to go is overwhelming, especially for my grandchildren who don’t understand why this is happening.
We are asking for help to get caught up on our mortgage and keep our family together in the only home we’ve known for a decade. As hard as it is to ask, we truly need support right now. Any donation or share of our story would mean the world to us and help us stay together as a family. Thank you for reading and for any kindness you can offer.
