Our plea to help our families leave Gaza

Our story

 

Hi everyone/ Salam alaikum, 

Our names are Israa Alsaafin and Fedaa Nassar, and we are sisters-in-law. We are both Canadian Citizens desperately seeking your help in trying to evacuate 14 of our family members out of Gaza through the Rafah border into Egypt. 

 

Israa

My family consists of nine members: my parents (65 and 59), two brothers (27 and 22), two sisters (34 and 18), sister-in-laws (31 and 25), and my martyred brother's only son (1). Sadly, while fleeing Northern Gaza City, my eldest brother (31) was martyred on October 13th.

 

Fedaa

My family consists of five members: my parents (59 And 55), my brother (30), and two sisters (34 and 30).

Our families, like all the Palestinians in Gaza, have been cornered by the Israeli occupation and Egyptian military into Rafah with no place to go. At this point, our families are awaiting their deaths. Their homes in Gaza are destroyed with all their belongings, and they are now living in harsh and inhumane conditions. They deserve the chance to live in peace and security, free from fear and displacement.

How you can help

Your help could mean the difference between life and death for our loved ones.

To cross the border, the authorities are exploiting Gazans to pay a hefty fee of about $5500 - $6500 USD per person for a total of about $85,000 USD for both families which it will be around 100,000 CAD. 

Such an amount is beyond the means of the average family in Gaza, especially amidst this horrendous genocide where many of its victims have lost everything. We are desperate to save them, however, we also do not have the financial means to support them without external help – your help. 

The money raised will be transferred to a trusted source in Egypt who will help in the process of evacuating our family including additional expenses they may need to survive once they have crossed the border (God willing/inshAllah).
