Dear friends, family, and kind strangers,
Our sweet baby man, Onyx, needs help... Last night after Ash came home from his shift, Chunk was waiting for him on our bed as he usually does. However, after a few minutes of greeting pets and lovin's , we were absolutely gutted when he began having trouble breathing.. We immediately rushed him to the emergency vet around 11:30pm. It wasn't until 6 hours later we were pulled into a room to be told that our little man had an enlarged right atrium (the upper right side of his heart) and severe pulmonary edema (severe fluid retention of his lungs). He’s struggling to breathe, and it’s shattering our hearts to see him like this and the inability to help him.
Right now, Onyx is on antibiotics to stabilize him, but he urgently needs to see a cardiologist for specialized tests and treatment to give him a fighting chance. Without the proper specialist and their care, we’re terrified we might lose him. Onyx isn’t just a pet—he’s Ash’s soul animal, a loving baby chunky man who brings so much happiness to us, our other pets, and everyone who meets him.. He is genuinely such a little light in our world, as we've been facing a lot of grief this year and are struggling with the thought of losing him now too.
Unfortunately, we’re in a tough spot financially right now... I’m in nursing school full-time without a job, and Ash is the sole provider for us. We’ve poured everything we have into Onyx’s emergency visit last night, but we can’t cover the cardiologists costs right now.. We hate asking for help, but for Onyx, we're willing to do anything we can for him. Every dollar will go directly to his veterinary care—consultations, diagnostics, and treatments to help him breathe easier and live the happy life he deserves.
Onyx means the world to us, and we’re desperate to give him the chance to come back from this... If you can donate, even a small amount, it would mean everything to us. Even sharing this with others who might help would also make all the difference in the world.
Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for any support you can offer. We’re hoping for the best possible outcome for our little Chunkman, we are desperate to see him chirping, snuggling, and playing with us and his siblings again soon.
All our love,
Tay & Ash
