Help Us Save Our Cat who survived our devastating house fire

Our Lives Changed Overnight The night before my birthday, my family’s home caught fire and burned to the ground. In just minutes, everything we owned was gone — our home, our belongings, and the sense of safety my parents worked so hard to build for us. We were supposed to be getting ready for my birthday celebration. I was excited to celebrate with my childhood friends, and my family had planned a day full of laughter, cake, and memories I was supposed to carry with me forever. Instead, on my birthday, those same friends arrived to see my house in flames. What should have been a joyful milestone became a scene of fear and heartbreak. Kids stood confused and scared, watching our home burn as my parents stood there panicked and helpless. It’s a moment that will never leave me — a birthday I will forever associate with loss and fear. We escaped with our lives, but what followed has been unbearable. One of our beloved cats did not survive the fire. In the moments after, I watched her receive CPR on a cold sidewalk. We rushed her to two emergency veterinary hospitals as she cried out in pain. I remember running down the street holding both of our cats, terrified and begging for them to be okay. That level of fear and loss shattered my heart in ways I can’t put into words. Another one of our cats survived, and I am incredibly grateful she is expected to recover — but saving her life required emergency veterinary care that left my family with enormous medical bills we were never prepared for. In the fire, we also lost all of our fish, all 16 of our pet birds, and the 11 baby bird eggs that were in their cage upstairs. They weren’t just animals — they were part of my everyday routine and my family. Losing so many living beings at once, without being able to save them, is something I’m still struggling to process. Right now, my family and I are displaced and do not have a place to live. We’re trying to navigate grief, trauma, and overwhelming expenses — while my parents are trying to stay strong for me during what should have been a happy milestone in my life. I never imagined I’d be in a position where I’d have to ask for help. My family has always been the kind to show love and support to others, even when it wasn’t easy or when we didn’t have much ourselves. Asking now is incredibly difficult, but after losing everything so suddenly, we truly cannot get through this without help. Your support will help us cover: Emergency housing and basic necessities Veterinary bills for our surviving cat The immediate costs of rebuilding our lives after the fire Every donation, no matter the amount, truly makes a difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser means just as much and helps us reach others who may be able to help. Thank you for taking the time to read my story, for your kindness, and for standing with us during the hardest moment of our lives. With gratitude, The Bryan Family
