My name is Levi Freeman and I’m 3. My name is Levi, but mom and dad call me “Puppet”. I’m apparently what you call a Boxer dog. I don’t really know what that means but let me tell you a little about myself. I’m a travelling man! I have more miles under my belt than most early 80’s Chevy’s. I have travelled across Canada more times than I can count (which I can’t by the way, I’m a dog, silly!) My most favourite thing to do outside is run and jump as HIIIIGH as I can (my mom says “like a lunatic” but I don’t know what a lunatic is haha) My mom says we are a family and family does everything together. They love to take me everywhere they go, whether it’s to work, on an adventure or just to the grocery store. My most favourite thing to do inside is play with my toys and cuddle with my mom. Even though I have 2 of my very own recliners and a beautiful blue bed on the floor, my spot of choice to curl up is right on mom’s lap. I’ve travelled all over but mom’s lap is my favourite place in the whole world, even though I barely fit anymore… My mom and dad took me to the doctors on Friday where I just had a really long nap and then mom and dad picked me up again. When the pretty lady from the vets office brought me out to them, my dad scooped me up into his arms and held me so tight. I really love when my dad picks me up, he gives the best hugs and makes me feel so safe and protected. But since then, mom and dad have been so sad and I don’t know why. They’ve been crying A LOT I’ve heard them on the phone and they keep saying a word I don’t understand. “Osteosarcoma” I don’t know what it means but I don’t think it’s so good. I’ll turn this over to mom and dad now and they can tell you all about it…
On Friday February 21 we got news that rocked our world, Levi has a highly aggressive form of bone cancer called Osteosarcoma. This isn’t a rare cancer but it is rare for a 3 yr old dog. We have caught it fairly early but it progresses at lightning speed. We have spoken to many vets and specialists in the last few days and every single one of them has told us that we need to have his leg amputated as soon as possible to give him the very best prognosis moving forward. We have been quoted a cost of $8000-$10,000 just for the surgery and that will need to be followed up by chemotherapy. All of this is very expensive and is far beyond what his insurance will cover. Levi is the centre of our universe. Everything we do, we do with him and/or for him. Levi just turned 3 in January, he still has so much life to live. Please help us save him, he is so very important to us…We are absolutely crushed by this diagnosis…
If you can’t donate, that’s ok too but please please share…
⭐️If you aren’t comfortable with GoFundMe and would still like to help I have set up a savings account for Levi’s care. E-transfers can be sent as well. Please send a message for the email address
