Hi guys,
As you may know my brother Alex and I have two German Shepherds that everyone absolutely adores and they are the two sweetest babies in the whole world. Pookie and Nena have shared immense love with everyone that they’ve met and have received a lot of love from those on social media.
Unexpectedly, my baby girl Nena has Anemia… which caused her Spleen to enlarge. She has lost about 10 lbs., has not been eating for over a week, lost pigmentation in her ears, nose and gums. I’m not sure how much longer she has while being in this uneasy state but I am in need of blood & protein transfusions to move on to the next step which would be surgery.
We all believed she was pregnant from her lover due to the swollenness of her belly, but this turned out to be a much more serious & life-threatening situation.
Nena's past state:
She has low white blood cells, low red blood cells, low platelets, and low protein. Her spleen is bleeding, and her right paw has begun to swell up. She is extremely skinny and her body has changed drastically in less than a week and a half. She has bled from her nose 2x and is very weak and she won’t stand up. In other words, she is not doing so well..
As we all know, Nena is one of the most protective, energetic, intelligent, and lovable companion pets any dog parent could have. To swimming in the ocean and her coming to save us multiple times to her just wanting to sleep by our side at night knowing we are safe. I can’t express the love and gratitude we have for Nena, she has brought out so much personality in our household and so much laughter from
her goofiness. She is truly such an epic dog.
As for Pookie, he has severe separation anxiety from Nena, where we catch him screaming like a human when he is not with her. I hate to see these two split up where their love for each other doesn’t compare.
We all may have experienced animal hospitals and their ridiculous charges/estimates to save your beloved pet but just to diagnose Nena it has cost around $11,700 and we were already aware of her condition from an Ultrasound, an X-ray, blood work, her overall state, and common logic.
Keep Nena in your prayers, this is so random, but my baby girl is on her deathbed, and it happened so fast.
Thank you,
Garcia Family
Funds:
Funds will be used for Prescriptions, Supplements, Specific diets, vet appointments, blood work, Steroids, Blood support medication, and hospital past expenses/bills. Anything more that Nena may need will go towards those possible future expenses. Hoping that she makes it through her overall treatment.
