Help Us Save More Horses Like Hank!!

As all of you know, horses have been a huge part of my life for the greater part of 38 years.  Some may say, myself included,  that they have been my whole life with the inclusion of my rescue dogs.   Horses have given me so much throughout my life.  They have been my safe haven,  my trusted partners, a shoulder to cry on, a muzzle to snuggle, and my steady constant throughout all of life's ups and downs.   Throughout my years with these incredible beings I have always wondered how I could give back to them.  Not just give back to my own, but horses as a whole.   It wasn't until a few months ago that fate came into play and I stumbled  into this amazing group of women with one goal in mind: help these horses who have been completely let down and discarded like trash by their people and get them safe and shower them with love and kindness.   

     Hank stole my heart (and a lot of others')  from the second I saw him.  Once owned and loved by a little kid (or so I imagine) and then dumped at a livestock auction where we outbid "kill buyers" to save him.  I have no doubt in my mind that he would have ended up on a "meat truck" headed to slaughter.   My eyes were quickly opened to this intense, horrific and dark world of the equine industry in this country and I can't turn away now.   A few quick facts about horse slaughter:

- 80,000+ American Horses are shipped to Mexico or Canada and brutally slaughtered each year so their meat can be shipped overseas for human consumption, including working, racing, and companion horses, even ponies and donkeys. 

- 80% of Americans support a ban on slaughtering horses for human consumption

- 92.3% of American Horses sent to slaughter are healthy and would be able to live out happy lives if given the chance

   The numbers are staggering and heartbreaking.  These horses are dumped for basically existing and most meet a horribly brutal end.  There are so many other options to slaughter.   Along with the help of some amazing women including, Olivia Alcorta of Storeybrook Farm, Tess Kiritsy of Freedom Ride Equine, Casey O'Connor Spagnola of Onyx's Dream,  Cait Oponski of Corral West Horse Adventures, and Maddy Dezen of Addison Farms, we are on a mission to fight this fight by raising awareness,  finding donors and homes for the horses we save and by trying to rescue as many as we can.  You can help us do this by donating to this important cause.  These horses have done nothing to deserve this horrible fate and it has become our main mission to help them.  Finally I feel that I know my purpose and along with these incredibly strong and determined women, and with the help of you all, I am confident we can keep climbing this mountain and start to make a difference.   

  To date we have saved 250 horses from slaughter since September 2020!!  For my birthday this year, which is on Thursday, I am asking all of my friends and family to help us in this fight.  Any amount helps!  Many of you have reached out to me over the last couple months offering support and wondering how you can help and I want to thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.  This mission is absolutely brutal but sadly it is the reality we are faced with on a daily basis.  With your assistance we can make an even bigger impact.
