(English version below)
Franklin Saavedra Flores

My name is Franklin Saavedra Flores, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my amazing mom, Rosa Maria Flores. She is 73 years old, full of strength and love, and right now she’s facing the fight of her life.
She has been diagnosed with Ampullary cancer, which develops in the area where the bile duct and pancreatic duct meet and empty into the small intestine (the ampulla of Vater). This type of cancer can block the flow of bile and digestive juices, leading to serious complications if left untreated. Her doctors at Hospital Metropolitano de Quito have scheduled a life-saving surgery to remove the tumor and give her the best chance at recovery.
So far, our family has covered every step — exams, procedures, and hospital stays — using all of our economic resources and budget. At this point, we are very concerned about how we will be able to pay for the next surgery, the post-operative medications, and the many other expenses needed to support her recovery.
The estimated cost for this next phase is about CAD$29,000, and we need to raise these funds quickly so she doesn’t lose her place in the surgical schedule.
My mom has always put others first: she’s a caring grandmother, a steady friend, and the heart of our family. Now she needs us — and we need you.
Your donation, no matter the size, will go directly to:
- Her upcoming surgery and hospital stay
- Post-operative medications and follow-up visits
- Support for her recovery so she can return home healthy and pain-free
Even if you can’t give, you can make a huge difference by sharing this page with friends, family, or anyone who might want to help. Every share brings us closer to our goal and gives my mom a better chance to heal.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us in this difficult moment. Your generosity means more than words can express.
With gratitude,
Franklin Saavedra
