I never imagined I would be in a position where I’d need to ask for help like this, but we’re running out of options and we have to try everything we can for Max.

Max is our beautiful 9-year-old Labrador, our loyal companion, and a huge part of our family. He has been by our side through so many milestones, and now, when he needs us most, we’re doing everything we can to be there for him.

Recently, Max was diagnosed with a growing tumour on his chest. The vets have provided a quote for surgery to remove the tumour and carry out a biopsy. Without the operation, the tumour will continue to grow and seriously affect his quality of life.

Unfortunately, no insurance will cover the cost because it’s now considered a pre-existing condition. We’ve asked the vets about a payment plan, but so far they’ve refused. We’ve also contacted local charities for help, but due to where we live, none are able to support us.

We’ve recently welcomed a new baby into our family, and as you can imagine, finances are incredibly tight. We have even had the heartbreaking conversation about rehoming Max, but we’re terrified that because of his age and the cost of the surgery, he may end up being put down. The thought of that is devastating.

Starting this fundraiser was the last thing I wanted to do, but I can’t give up on him without trying absolutely everything.

Max still has so much love, life, and joy in him. He deserves the chance to heal and continue being the gentle, loving soul we know him to be.
