UPDATE
4/2/24
hi everyone so sorry for the delay in the update for Marley. He’s doing wonderful though his journey to recovery has been long and tiring. I decided to take it upon myself to take Marley home and do what I do best, be a nurse. I came up with a treatment plan for Marley that I use on human beings for wound healing and it has been working phenomenal. He should be out of the woods very soon until then he continues to recover and be our little fighter. My family and I thank you so much for the love and support. If you would like to , donate at this time. We would still appreciate it as the cost of medical supplies and blue light equipment have been quite costly. Thank you so much.

UPDATE
2/20/24

hi everyone sorry for not updating sooner. It’s now been 10 days since the last update. Marley has returned to the vet about three times since then. The vet has debated and or removed more dead skin from the incident. I have began doing his wound care at home Monday, Wednesday and Friday, which includes blue light therapy, collagen, hydrogel, calcium alginate, and wrapping his wounds with rolled gauze and coban. Marley is due to see the vet again this Friday to see how the progress is going. Marley is starting to get around better though. He does have a drop foot on the right hand leg still. The journey continues to get this little guy well. As costs continue to rise due to out-of-pocket medical supplies And medication to help with pain and infection as well as inflammation. Your continued support is appreciated more than any of you will ever know. Thank you so much for helping us on this journey Bella and our family appreciate it.

UPDATE: 2/10/24
Marley returned to the vet due to swelling in both hind paws and most of his stitches popping off. This happened due to how tight they had to pull the skin due to how small he is and how little skin he has to work with to close him up. Sadly we are unable to put the stitches back in place and because of this he now has his left femur exposed again as well as now his right tibia to where you can see through his leg. The vet is having us do wound care twice a day and having him return Monday to see if there is a chance of surgical staples. This was not an option today as there was too much swelling in his paws. He continues to have foot drop in his right hind paw. We are working on having him walk or stand several times a day to keep the foot moving and hopefully it will heal. The journey is rough but we are doing our best. Thank you for all the support as we nurse Marley back to health.

UPDATE: 2/9/24
I know it’s been a couple of days but it’s been a really rough couple of days since I last updated. Marley underwent surgery yesterday with the expectation that his left front and back legs would need some surgical repairs as the skin broke down and was exposing the muscle. Once the doctor went in, he found more damage than we thought. Marley has major damage to his left hind leg which left his femur fully exposed. The doctor worked with what he had and was able to stitch Marley‘s leg shut. He also had damage to his front left leg and his back right leg. He went in and removed as much of the damaged skin as he possibly could. Marley has over 70 stitches and five drains. He’s unable to walk at this time and drags both of his back legs. He had to be taken back in this morning due to severe swelling of both of his back paws. The doctor had to remove some stitches because of the swelling. He will be returning to the vet first thing tomorrow morning to check on the swelling and to see why he is unable to bear any weight on his legs. He is starting to experience a foot drop in his right paw. We continue to ask for your prayers and assistance as the vet did mention that this will be several months of recovery and multiple surgeries before Marley is out of the dark. Thank you to everyone who has donated and left kind words. We appreciate it more than you know.

2/6/24 UPDATE
Hello everyone,
marley came home last night and returned to the hospital this morning due to extreme lethargy, difficulty opening eyes, not wanting to stand and whimpering when trying to provide water along with refusing food since the incident. Today Marley stayed all day on IV fluids and antibiotics, his wounds were flushed and treated, as well as him needing to be force fed. He was sent home and will need to return tomorrow where the lead vet will let us know if Marley will need his left hind leg amputated due to spread of infection, the skin in turning black and has a foul odor to it. Marley is still not eating, standing or drinking at home and is extremely lethargic. Please pray for us at the bill continues to add up and Marley’s journey is looking a little rocky. We appreciate all who have donated and Isabella is very glad to see everyone round together to save her boy. We will remain strong for Marley and Bella.
thank you everyone!
I will post an update tomorrow evening
