Help Us Save Llama & His Legs

We got our little cat, Llama, a year and a half ago. He was just a kitten and he was full of love. He is the sweetest cat, will hold a legit conversation, loves to cuddle, and he loves to chase bugs.

Unfortunately a few weeks ago he started limping. We brought him to the vet and received some pain medication with the vet telling us it might heal on it's own. Weeks later and he is not healed and is limping even more than he was before. We got him x-rayed, we brought him to two different vets to make sure the diagnosis was correct:

Llama has feline physeal dysplasia syndrome in his rear legs which has caused him to have a spontaneous lateral physeal fractures in both of his legs. This is what that looks like in X-ray form:

This was our first estimate:

Luckily after speaking with two different vets and two different surgeons we were able to find him a surgeon that could do both legs for $3000 (the estimate above is the first estimate which was much more expensive).

The vet says with these surgeries he should make a full recovery. What they will do is go in and remove the upper part of the bone that connects his leg bones to his hip. With this piece gone the muscles will create an artificial joint and he should regain full usage of his legs.

He is such a young cat and we love him so dearly, please help our family out with this one.

Thank you
