Help Us Save Kash!

Wow! A dog really is a mans best friend! Kash is a 19 year old Pomerania who is full of life. He has been by my side through the last 17 years of my adulthood and has been my companion from Atlanta, GA, Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD & now Los Angeles, CA. At his age he is still full of energy, life which I credit to keeping him around his 9 Year old sister Brindle who we rescued as a puppy.

Prior to taking Kash in for his annual shots this year he started growing a mass/tumor under his front right leg. In March, we took him in for his shots but unfortunately were unable to test the mass/tumor and do his shots at the same time. After running test, his amazing veterinarian at Banfield Pet Hospital informed us that Kash has Mesenchymal Neoplasia - Soft Tissue Sarcoma (Cancer) with a recommendation to a Surgical Oncologist for removal.

Fortunately, the cancer is localized to the Tumor and can be removed but of course that is not and easy task physically or financially. As of today his Tumor has grown to the size of a baseball, has now broken through his skin and is now going to need immediate surgery to have it removed or alternatively be put down as continuing this way will not provide him with the best quality of life.

My initial thought was to make peace with it and start making plans to put him down because of the financial constraint but Kash is loved by so many people who have history with him over all these year. When I first informed my circle of friends, they began to cry. Their immediate suggestion was to create this GoFundMe campaign which now gives me hope. It has been hard for me to put into words how this makes me feel because it has not hit me yet, I also know that this is a part of a dogs life cycle, because there are options, he is still full of life and I know I gave him the best possible life throughout the years.

Im currently unemployed, I am forced to make a financial decision versus a decision that can save his life. This is why I need YOU, My animal lovers to share in helping me save Kash's life.
