Help us save hoarder victims!

Hello, my name is Melis and I am the founder of the registered non-profit Cheers to Paws Animal Rescue. We are based in Kelowna, BC.
Our partner animal rescue Hold My Paw reached out to 36 cats who were in a well-trusted private shelter in Turkey but in very bad shape. The shelter was hoarding them and not giving them enough water or food besides proper care, warm place, etc. The shelter animals were pushed to drink dwell water for a long time which caused them serious health problems. They were also pushed to live with their own pee and poo, the condition was filthy. The shelter did not even buy cat litter for the cats, the cats were using wood dust and the wood dust was like a rock because the shelter did not change it at all. Some cats were lying down on an empty food bag or a sack, rest of them were lying on the tile floor or hiding on the roof level.
It was shocking to see these babies in that condition. Everything happened in June 2023
After the negotiation, we were able to take 32 of them from the hoarding place. 2 cats were the shelter founder's own cats and the other 2 cats were taken by their "guardians".
The cats went to 5 different veterinary clinics.
5 cats went to a clinic in Istanbul.
5 cats went to a clinic in Izmir.
10 cats went to a clinic in Ankara.
12 cats went to a clinic in Adana.
We were thinking that more than half of the cats would be discharged from the vet clinics in a short time after they received their initial care.
When we received the cats' clinic results we had another shock. All of the cats had at least a serious blood infection, ear infection, some tested positive for FELV, FIV, FIP, kidney issues, lung issues and many others. I will explain all of them one by one.
The cats could not leave the clinics for at least the first 4-5 weeks. We could not save 4 babies even though they received every possible treatment. Some cats left the clinics on their 7-8 weeks. We still have cats in clinics and they are still getting treatments.
Naturally, our debt is increasing day by day to the vet clinics.
To all of the clinics, we had over 650,000.00 TRY = 32,225.00 CAD debt. So far we paid around 200,000.00 TRY = 10,000.00 CAD to the clinics.
We would never ever predict that the cats' vet bills would be that much and think that they would be that sick. As I mentioned in the beginning they are a well-known, well-trusted shelter in Turkey.

We need your help to cover our 450,000.00 TRY + future vet expenses which is equal to 22,000.00 CAD + future expenses.

Almost all of the cats are with sitters. We also pay for their boarding, food and cat litter.
These fur babies are living their second chances and we are grateful to be a part of their journey. Hold My Paw started to rehome the cats who are fully recovered. You can follow their journey on their Instagram account.
