Help Us Save Forty Years of Memories for our Mental Health Community.

For forty years, I have had the privilege and honor of carrying forward my mother's legacy at the Odessa Care Home for Mental Health Residents in the heart of South Memphis. This home, founded by my beloved mother, Mrs. Odessa Ann Williamson, has been a sanctuary of hope, healing, and compassion for countless individuals who, through no fault of their own, have faced the challenges of mental health.

The Odessa Care Home has been a beacon of light in our South Memphis Community, a place where those often marginalized and misunderstood found solace, dignity, and a sense of belonging. It has been a place where lives were rebuilt, and spirits were mended. It is a testament to the enduring power of compassion and the importance of mental health care in our society.

However, today, I stand before you with a heavy heart and a plea for help. Our residents, the very souls who have found refuge within these walls, are in grave jeopardy of losing their homes due to a severe lack of funding. The future of the Odessa Care Home hangs in the balance, and I implore you all to recognize the urgency of this situation.

The residents we serve are not statistics; they are our neighbors, friends, and family members. They are individuals who deserve the same care, respect, and opportunities as anyone else. Mental health care is a fundamental human right, and it is our moral obligation to ensure that those in need receive the support they require.
