On Friday, September 22nd, one of our wonderful clients found an abandoned dog in her condominium community. Barely clinging to life, he was rushed to our clinic where we immediately began treatment. We named him Forest, and took him in as our own. At the time of intake, Forest's body temperature was only 92 degrees (a normal pup's body temperature should be about 10 degrees warmer than that), and weighed only 19 lbs. He was unable to move at all.
Forest has received round-the-clock care ever since, including 24-hr IV fluids, multiple blood and plasma transfusions, daily bloodwork, and a mountain of medication. He has such a strong spirit and is fighting so hard to live. He's made some great strides since he first was carried through our doors, but his recovery has been rocky at best. Two weeks ago, we performed an emergency surgery on Forest and removed an intestinal obstruction, which has impacted his recovery. We have received donations from the community, which we are so appreciative of, but they cannot begin to cover the costs incurred to take care of this little boy. Today, his treatments stand at over $12,000, and our small clinic is struggling to carry this financial burden. Please help us help him.
