Help us save Dumpling!

Hi friends, family & the Beachwood/Franklin village community,

Yesterday afternoon on 10/9 while on our way home, we spotted a cat writhing around in the shoulder of the 101 northbound freeway just south of the Gower exit. We were quick to circle back to confirm what we saw- a severely injured cat - bleeding badly, and were fortunately able to safely grab him. It was clear that this cat had likely been hit by a car, and was in a lot of pain, so we rushed him to the emergency vet where he is now rcving care. Vet confirmed his tail bone is completely severed at the spine, and he has severe trauma to his backside including a prolapsed anus :( As a result he does not currently have control or use of his bladder or bowels. Despite all of the pain and distress he was experiencing, he was incredibly sweet, gentle and loving - confirmed by the staff at the vet as well.

Vet has confirmed he is unchipped and unaltered, so we are uncertain if he is someones lost pet, but I intend to help place him in a wonderful home once he is healed. We have decided to name him Dumpling.

He is currently at Beverly Oaks vet in Sherman Oaks & I am awaiting an estimate for the surgery that is needed, as the surgeon was not in yesterday. In the meantime, he is receiving fluids and being treated for pain. I will share all the bills and receipts once I rcv them.

I have set up this Gofund me in order to raise the funds to cover the emergency vet care Dumpling has rcvd so far and extensive surgery he will need in order to save his life. I am hoping that the community can come together to help him. He deserves a chance at life and I intend to do everything I can to raise the money needed in order for that to happen.
