Douro will be turning 4 this July! On the morning of Sunday Feb 27, we found Douro having difficulty breathing and took him to the vet that afternoon. After a series of tests the doctor concluded that he had fluid build up in his left lung, gave us medication and sent us home, saying that he was going to get better. The next day he was worse since the medication was not effective and he was rushed to the emergency, where they then extracted 280ml of fluid and gave him fluids. The CT results came back with good news: he didn’t have to go through surgery!

However, Douro needs to get all the infectious fluid extracted from his chest cavity through a tube and will be in ICU for 5 days. This is quoted at $6000 + ongoing medications and checkups, on top of all the vet bills we had to pay upfront this week. Any contributions will definitely go a long way as we’re drowning in medical expenses. Please help us help Douro.
