Help us save Dallas Black Owned Grocery Store

Donation protected
Store Background: Save U More is an independently family owned and operated grocery store located in South Dallas. Located in a food desert...Save U More is the ONLY grocery store within 8 miles (20 minutes +) in that area. Since becoming independent in April 2019, Save U More (previously known as Save-A-Lot), has faced a series of challenges without having the big name or support from big businesses.

Funding: All funding for the grocery store such as keeping the shelves stocked, salaries for employees, salaries for police department (security), maintenance on the building etc. has been coming from the pockets of the owner being that revenue is not able to circulate.

Owner Background: Joseph Kemp (my Grandfather) is a prominent real estate developer whose expertise is developing residential properties throughout North Texas. He decided to branch out and invest in a grocery store back in 2016. With COVID-19 affecting the world, it has also affected small businesses and the survival rate of the businesses.  Mr. Kemp took a leap of faith at developing a grocery store in the South Dallas area where NO ONE else wanted to set-up shop. This grocery store broke ground as it serves more than 30,000 people within a 2 mile radius. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qscpHbroebQ

The Problem: Due to the stress and financial burden, my Grandfather is contemplating a buyout (selling the grocery store). My mother and I are trying to AVOID the buyout and continue the legacy of this grocery store with the potential to expand especially during a time where our communities are in need of black owned grocery stores.
Not only will this fundraiser help us keep the store thriving but it will serve as a vital asset to something greater for the community.

The Goal: We are looking to raise at least $600,000 to cover expenses. While ALL donations will be very much appreciated we are hoping to bring in more to provide more for the community.

Estimated Breakdown of Expenses:
* Fully Stock Grocery Store/Shelves - $200,000
* Police Department (security) - $200,000/yr
* Employee Salary - $235,000/yr
* Equipment /Building Maintenance - $15,000/yr
Total Yearly Expenses - $650,000

Our Plan: As you can see, the total is greater than the amount we requested...which is not including ideas we'd like to implement such as a delivery Van to service and conveniently deliver groceries to homes in the surrounding areas. With the help of ALL OF YOU we can make this happen! Once we jump this hurdle....expansion of developing and opening more black owned grocery stores desert is a GREAT possibility.

Our Gratitude: To everyone who plans to donate and/or inform your peers of this we'd like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Not only will you be helping our family and our families legacy but you will be contributing to revolutionary movement of black-owned grocery stores. Also, we have a program setup to where no food in the grocery store goes to waste. All foods that can no longer be on the shelves past a certain time due to certain regulations, are donated to the local food pantries (Metropolitan Dream Center).

Once again thank you for your support and we look forward to working as a community with you all. Much Love!!!
