Hello Wonderful People!
My name is Casey and this is my beautiful, amazing, perfect dog, Dagny.
Many of you know Dagny. She is the sweetest, most gentle dog you'll ever meet. From the moment I saw her at the pound, I knew she was meant to be with me. I remember picking her up as a little baby and she just snuggled right into my lap and fell asleep. I asked the staff there if she was sick and they said, "Nope! She's just like this!" I never put her back down. I filled out all the paperwork with Dagny in my arms, refusing to let them take her from me, even for a moment. Before we got home I had already named her. Dagny means "New Day" in Scandinavian, and her presence in my life has felt like just that. Every day with her is a blessing.
The reason I'm here is because Dagny has been diagnosed with a hemangiosarcoma. This basically means that she has a possibly cancerous tumor on her spleen that is now pressing on other organs and causing symptoms like weight loss, hair loss, and lethargy. She is losing blood internally and her white blood cells are through the roof from trying to fight off the growing tumor.
Luckily, upon further inspection via ultrasound, my veterinarian has deemed her healthy enough for life-saving surgery. Without this surgery she likely only has a month or two left to live.
Needless to say, veterinary surgeries are expensive, and that's where you come in. The total cost of Dagny's surgery is $3,750. I am beside myself with grief, and no matter what she WILL be having this surgery. In fact, it's already scheduled for this coming Wednesday, as Dr. Smith felt it was too urgent to wait any loner. If you can donate even a small amount it would mean the world to me. Every penny will go towards saving Dagny's life. At only 10 years old, she could live another 4 or 5 years, and I won't give up on her without a fight.
Your care and support are so appreciated during this extremely tough time.
Thank you, in advance, for any help you might be able to give.
Prayers are also welcome.
