Help us save Gigi & Baely, 2 Dachshund puppies

Donation protected

Three days ago we wanted to adopt a puppy and found someone who had dachshund puppies for adoption. I was so thrilled to meet them and when we finally met with the person, there were two 10 week old females left and they seemed like they weren’t being taken care of properly. Even though we were only looking to adopt one, we decided we would adopt both to keep them together as they looked scared. We named the black one Baely and the one this post is about “Gigi.” The first night both girls were playful and we had food and beds set up for both. Baely was very energetic and hungry, however Gigi seemed to be the opposite. We thought maybe it’s seeing unfamiliar faces that made her timid. However, the very next day Gigi seemed very low in energy and still wasn’t eating. Soon after she began experiencing shivers and started throwing up and pooping blood. Very concerned, I rushed both girls to the vet and miraculously baely was perfectly healthy, but Gigi on the other hand tested positive for the parvovirus, “the puppy killer” as it’s often referred as. The vet recommended that we keep her at the facility for treatment until she recovered, however, I could only afford to cover for two nights which was already in the thousands. I was forced to take the outpatient treatment for Gigi. As Gigi seems more stable, yet still very sick, I am very scared for her life and I want to take her to an emergency hospital where the treatments and procedures are more effective. With no money left until the next couple weeks, I don’t know what will happen with Gigi these next few days if I don’t have her hospitalized and her life is very uncertain at the moment. I don’t want her to die and If you can donate towards helping Gigi fight this deadly virus, you don’t know how much you are doing for her. She’s only 10weeks old and has a whole lifetime ahead of her. She needs your help. Every donation will be greatly appreciated as every cent counts for Gigi. Thank you for reading all of this and even if you can donate right now, a simple share to friends and family will go a long way.

Update 03/29/2021:
Even though our other baby Baely initially tested negative for the parvovirus and receiving her parvo shot, a few days later she also began showing symptoms of the virus; not wanting to eat, vomiting, and bloody diarrhea. The news of Baely also contracting the virus devastated our family as now we had two very sick puppies who may or may not survive even with treatment. As most of our efforts and donations were concentrated on Gigi as she was in the brink of dying, we were not prepared financially to also pay for hospitalization for Baely. As of now, Baely is receiving outpatient treatment, meaning we are administering medication to her at home and taking her back to the vet to be given fluids only. We wish to have both puppies, Baely and Gigi hospitalized as their chances of survival dramatically increase. So far, everyone who has helped us by donating and sharing our page have already done more than enough and we are also doing our best from our side to get our puppies the help they require. This GoFundMe was initially dedicated to our baby Gigi but now that both of my babies are very sick with parvo, any additional help and donations will go to helping both of our girl’s hospitalization bill. We cannot stress enough how impactful everyone has been to the survival of Gigi and Baely, and we will continue doing everything we can to assure our babies survive. With love and appreciation, we welcome your help and are praying that these beautiful fur babies with a full life ahead of them make it through. Blessings from our family .
