Help Us Save Butter’s Life

Our sweet 7-month-old puppy Butter is fighting for her life against tetanus — a rare and dangerous condition that is causing her muscles to lock up and her little body to struggle more than any pup should have to.

We’re now on Day 7 of this battle. Butter has been hospitalized and is receiving round-the-clock care, including oxygen support (when the spasms are affecting her lungs), muscle relaxants, feeding tube and careful monitoring, as her body tries to overheat (common symtpom from tetanus). Despite the odds, she's showing slow but steady signs of improvement: sitting up on her own, trying to move around, and responding to our voices and touch. She recognizes us when we are near, puts her head in our lap and licks us. Just not out of the woods yet.

Her Recovery Is Possible — But It’s Expensive

Tetanus in dogs is extremely rare and difficult to treat. Because there’s no specific cure, it requires intensive care over several weeks to give her the best shot at survival.

We’ve already poured everything we have — emotionally, physically, and financially — into helping Butter heal. But her care costs are growing by the day. Right now, we’re facing our limit.

We’re doing everything in our power to keep her fighting and to bring her home. But we can’t do this alone.

Butter Is More Than Just a Dog — She’s Family

I can’t have children, so Butter is my child. She’s my emotional support, my reason to smile when days are heavy. She’s been with me through grief, through struggle, and she has a spirit that is full of love and light — even now, as she fights to survive.

When I look into her eyes, I see someone who knows she’s loved, someone who wants to stay. She’s not ready to give up. And neither are we.
