Hi, my name is Elle and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help saving the life of our beloved dog, Bruce
Over the past few weeks, Bruce has changed dramatically. He’s lost weight rapidly, become weak and lethargic, and started panting constantly. Most worryingly, he recently began having seizures. We knew something was seriously wrong — but nothing could prepare us for the results of his emergency blood tests.
Bruce has been diagnosed with severe, life-threatening anaemia and dangerously low platelets. His red blood cell count is critically low, meaning his body is being starved of oxygen. His platelets — which help his blood to clot — are so low that he’s at serious risk of spontaneous bleeding, including into his brain, which could be the cause of his seizures.
Despite everything, his liver, kidney, and glucose levels are normal — giving us hope that, with the right treatment, he still has a chance.
Right now, we’re facing a difficult road. He urgently needs:
• Blood transfusions
• Specialist diagnostics (like bone marrow tests and imaging)
• Lifesaving medication
• Possibly intensive hospital care
The cost of his treatment is already rising rapidly, and as much as we’re doing everything we can, we simply can’t afford it alone. That’s why we’re asking for help.
Bruce is not just a pet — he’s family. He’s been by our side through everything, giving unconditional love and comfort. Now it’s our turn to fight for him.
If you can donate anything — even the smallest amount — we would be endlessly grateful. Every penny will go directly toward his veterinary bills and treatment. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page.
Thank you so much for reading, for caring, and for giving Bruce a chance.
He’s the gentlest boy, loves belly rubs, and has been our daughter’s best friend since she was a baby.
Our insurance have cancelled his policy without us knowing and now I have told them they will not insure him.
With love,
Elle, and Most importantly Bruce
