Hi, my name is Morgan Smith, and my family's business, Boorman Archery, is in serious danger of closing. Due to the current economic climate and the 25% tariffs imposed by our government, we are facing the heartbreaking possibility of shutting our doors August 29th if things do not change.
Boorman Archery was founded in 1964 by my grandfather, Ron Boorman, in the backyard of his home in British Columbia. His dream was to share the beauty of archery with anyone willing to try something new. As one of the very first archery pro shops in the province, Boorman Archery helped grow and support the sport across generations—from beginners to professionals.
My mother, Stephanie Smith, and my uncle, Bill Boorman, both grew up in the sport and have decades of experience competing at the highest levels. Since my grandfather's passing in 2020, they have been running the shop together, keeping his legacy alive and giving back to the community that meant so much to him.
For the past three years, I’ve also had the privilege of working at the shop. It has always held a special place in my heart, and I am doing everything I can to keep it going.
We are asking for support to help cover essential business expenses including rent, property taxes, equipment maintenance, inventory, and wages for our small team.
This shop is more than just a business. It is the result of decades of passion, hard work, and love. It is a place where community is built, where new archers discover a lifelong passion, and where my grandfather’s legacy still lives and breathes.
If you can support us in any way whether through a donation, sharing this campaign, visiting the store, or simply telling a friend who might be interested we would be grateful. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference.
Thank you so much for reading,
Morgan Smith
